Whitney and Caitlin have a love for the ages. They have grown together over the years, supported each others' educations and careers and have gathered friends and family who truly and authentically love them. Everyone came together on a sunny morning in June to pay tribute to these two amazing women and I got to be a small part of it!
The challenge for me was to make sure I was incorporating the unique desires of each bride while also creating complimentary arrangements. For Whitney I included ocean song roses whereas in Caitlin's bouquet, she preferred to stay away from roses so she got burgundy carnations. Each bride got a beautiful, large airplant so that they could have something to keep and nurture in their home after their wedding.
The couple married on Rosario beach under an arbor built by family. I designed a corner piece for the couple to accent their already gorgeous ceremony space.
One element I thought was so cute was Whitney's desire for a sweet anenome and some fresh lavender for her hair.
I used lots of dark and light purple colors, greenery, greys and sage greens. The bridesmaids wore a selection of slate and grey blue dresses so it was important to make sure I considered the complete pallet.
The reception at the Majestic Inn in Anacortes was in a high ceilinged, light and airy ballroom with the smell of the ocean coming through large french doors. I decorated each table with golds, purples and greens. The couple added special pictures and objects to each table's centerpiece. I laid a lush dahlia garland across the sweetheart table.
This wedding, from beginning to end, was one of my all time favorites! The beautiful photos are by Nick + Danee. See them at www.nickplusdanee.com.
